IN SB0520

Prohibits courts, arbitrators, administrative agencies, and other adjudicative authorities from enforcing foreign law if it would violate rights guaranteed by the Indiana or United States Constitution.

Requires modification or amendment of contract provisions calling for foreign law application to preserve constitutional rights, unless the contract explicitly states it will be interpreted according to foreign law.

Voids any contractual provision or agreement that cannot be modified to preserve constitutional rights and involves foreign law interpretation.

Prohibits courts from granting motions to transfer cases to foreign forums (forum non conveniens) when a natural person subject to Indiana jurisdiction seeks to maintain an action in Indiana and the transfer would likely violate the nonmoving party's constitutional rights.

Takes effect July 1, 2011.
