Senate Bill 542 Summary

• Prohibits state employees from making wage assignments for contributions or payments used for political activities, and prohibits the state from accepting such assignments.

• Removes the provision allowing employees to make wage assignments to pay dues to labor organizations of which they are members.

• Repeals the requirement that school employers deduct and remit dues to school employee organizations from school employees' paychecks.

• Effective July 1, 2011.
