Honors Katie Irving, an 8th grader at Delta Middle School, for winning Indiana's 2011 National Youth Art Month Flag Event competition.

Katie's original flag design was selected by Indiana Art Teachers at their October 2011 convention and received the most votes among student submissions.

Katie's design features an Indiana farm with corn and barn silhouetted against a colorful sky, with a young woman holding a paint brush dancing across the landscape with a ribbon of colors.

Katie's flag design will be made into a 3'x5' flag to be flown in Washington D.C. during March 2011 and will be displayed at the National Art Education Association's Convention in Seattle, Washington.

Directs the Secretary of the Senate to transmit a copy of the resolution to Katie Irving and Mrs. Juli Dorton of Delta Middle School.
