Congratulates Tammy Brant, a physical education teacher at Selma Middle School, on being named the Midwest District Middle School Physical Education Teacher of the Year.

NASPE (National Association for Sport and Physical Education) will honor Brant at its national convention in San Diego, California, March 29 through April 1, 2011.

Brant secured a $15,000 local grant to purchase heart monitors for students to track individual fitness levels and collaborated with a registered dietician to implement nutritional lessons.

Brant's previous honors include Indiana Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Middle School Teacher of the Year and Ball State University Physical Education Graduate Student of the Year.

Directs the Secretary of the Senate to transmit a copy of the resolution to Tammy Brant.
