Crown Point Police Officer Robert Ballas honored by the Indiana Senate for saving a two-year-old child who was choking at Aurelio's Restaurant by performing the Heimlich maneuver before ambulance arrival

Officer Ballas received the March Employee of the Month award from Crown Point Mayor David Uran for his life-saving actions

Ballas performed multiple life-saving interventions within approximately one year, including saving his choking nephew in January 2010, resuscitating a woman in cardiac arrest in March 2010, and saving fellow officer Sgt. James Poling from choking in March 2011

The Secretary of the Senate directed to provide a copy of the resolution to Officer Ballas
