IN HB1014

Allows physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and students in these fields to refuse to dispense drugs or medical devices they believe would be used to cause an abortion, destroy an unborn child, or cause death through assisted suicide, euthanasia, or mercy killing

Prohibits civil damage claims against refusing health care professionals, their employers, or their facilities based on such refusal

Prohibits disciplinary, recriminatory, or discriminatory action against health care professionals who refuse to dispense under these circumstances

Creates the crime of "health care professional discrimination" as a Class A misdemeanor for employers who knowingly take adverse action against refusing employees, elevated to a Class D felony for subsequent offenses

Authorizes licensing boards to impose additional fines up to $5,000 for first offenses and $10,000 for subsequent offenses against employers convicted of health care professional discrimination
