HB 1110 Summary

• Applies to regional bus authorities providing public transportation in counties with populations between 400,000 and 700,000, for calendar years beginning after December 31, 2011

• Requires Lake County, Hammond, and Gary to each quarterly transfer $187,500 to the regional bus authority before April 1, July 1, October 1, and January 1

• Requires East Chicago to quarterly transfer $150,000 to the regional bus authority on the same schedule

• Transfers must come from riverboat admissions tax revenue, riverboat wagering tax revenue, or economic development payments received by the city or county

• Effective upon passage with an emergency declaration
