IN HB1152

Grants city and town courts jurisdiction over misdemeanors only if the judge is an attorney in good standing under Indiana Supreme Court requirements.

Adds nine courts to the list of courts requiring judges to be licensed attorneys: Clarksville town court, Edgewood town court, Elkhart city court, Goshen city court, Jeffersonville city court, Mooresville town court, Nappanee city court, New Castle city court, and Terre Haute city court.

Maintains city and town courts' existing jurisdiction over ordinance violations and infractions regardless of judge licensing status.

Takes effect July 1, 2012.
