HB 1184 Summary

• Amends IC 3-11-8-4 to establish requirements for schools used as polling places
• Schools designated as polling places must close and may not provide instruction to students on election day
• School buildings, fire stations, and other public buildings must be made available without charge to counties for holding elections
• Counties cannot be required to sign liability agreements as a condition of using public buildings for elections
• Effective July 1, 2012
