Authorizes municipalities in Lake County, Indiana to impose taxes of their own design during a limited window from July 1, 2012 through September 30, 2012

Removes the standard restriction that local units cannot impose taxes except as expressly granted by state statute, but only for Lake County municipalities during the specified period

Taxes imposed under this authority remain in effect until the municipality repeals the ordinance

Municipalities may enter agreements with the Indiana Department of State Revenue to have the new taxes collected alongside other state-collected taxes

Any municipal sales tax imposed must fully comply with the Streamlined Sales and Use Tax Agreement, including providing required rate databases to sellers
