HB 1355 Summary

• Excludes beer sold and shipped outside Indiana from the 30,000 barrel annual production limit for small breweries selling directly to retailers and dealers.

• Increases the barrel production threshold for certain brewer powers and duties from 30,000 to 60,000 barrels per calendar year, including restaurant ownership, on-premises consumption sales, and direct consumer delivery.

• Increases the annual permit fee for breweries manufacturing more than 60,000 barrels from $2,000 to apply to larger breweries, while maintaining the $500 fee for breweries manufacturing 60,000 barrels or less.

• Allows retailers holding permits to acquire interests in brewer's permits for breweries manufacturing not more than 60,000 barrels annually.

• Effective July 1, 2012.
