HB 1366 Summary

• Deletes requirement that St. Joseph County innkeeper's tax be deposited quarterly into the convention and exhibition center fund.

• Directs county treasurer to distribute innkeeper's tax revenues not pledged before July 1, 2012, for bond or lease payments to municipalities (for tax collected within municipality) and county general fund (for tax collected outside municipalities).

• Allows municipalities and county to use distributed tax revenues for any lawful purpose upon appropriation by their respective fiscal bodies.

• Updates population parameters for St. Joseph County from 200,000-300,000 to 250,000-270,000 residents based on 2010 census.

• Effective July 1, 2012.
