IN HB1370

Establishes a medicinal marijuana cardholder system administered by the state department of health for patients with debilitating medical conditions including cancer, glaucoma, HIV/AIDS, hepatitis C, ALS, Crohn's disease, Alzheimer's disease, multiple sclerosis, and other chronic conditions producing severe pain, nausea, or seizures.

Requires physicians licensed to practice medicine in Indiana to certify that patients have a debilitating medical condition in order for them to obtain a medicinal marijuana card.

Creates exemptions from marijuana possession and dealing crimes for registered medicinal marijuana cardholders, licensed medicinal marijuana dispensaries, and registered dispensary employees acting in their official capacity.

Directs the state department of health executive board to adopt rules regulating medicinal marijuana cardholders, dispensaries, and dispensary employees.

Effective date: July 1, 2012.
