Honors George Taliaferro for his pioneering efforts in advancing civil rights in Indiana, including meeting with Indiana University President Herman Wells to desegregate local restaurants that refused to serve African Americans.

Recognizes Taliaferro's achievements as the first African American drafted into the National Football League in 1949 and his athletic accomplishments including All-American honors, Pro Bowl selections, and induction into multiple football halls of fame.

Acknowledges Taliaferro's 45-year career in higher education, including 20 years at Indiana University where he served as Special Assistant to the President and coordinated affirmative action programs and equal opportunity policies across the state university system.

Recognizes his social work career emphasizing rehabilitation of prisoners, ex-offenders, and individuals struggling with addiction, and his leadership roles with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Monroe County and the Children's Organ Transplant Association.

Directs the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives to transmit a copy of the resolution to George Taliaferro.
