Bishop Chatard High School football team won the Class 3A state championship for the second consecutive year, defeating South Bend St. Joseph's.

The victory marks the Trojans' 11th state football title, the most won by any Indiana high school.

Bishop Chatard achieved 11th consecutive sectional championship and 11th consecutive regional championship en route to the 2011 state championship.

Senior quarterback Max Van Vliet, who overcame torn anterior cruciate ligaments in both knees, led the team with 28 touchdown passes and 6 rushing touchdowns while maintaining a 4.04 grade point average.

The General Assembly congratulates the team and directs transmittal of the resolution to all team members, coaches, and administrators.
