Honors Robert E. Miller (January 17, 1932 - October 18, 2011) of Michigan City, Indiana, a Korean War Army veteran who declined a football scholarship to serve his country

Recognizes Miller's education at Central Catholic High School and University of Notre Dame, where he earned a B.S. in Commerce (1955) using the G.I. Bill and won the Bengal Bouts Boxing Championship

Acknowledges his career in Michigan City Area Schools as a teacher at Coolspring Elementary, counselor at Barker Junior High, principal at Krueger Junior High, and career counselor for all district schools

Notes his 16 years of service as a LaPorte County Councilor and active membership in numerous civic organizations including the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, and Moose Family Center #980

Recognizes that Governor Joe Kernan named Miller a Sagamore of the Wabash in 2004 for his lifelong community service
