Providence High School girls soccer team won the Indiana High School Athletic Association Class A championship on October 29, 2012, at Kuntz Memorial Soccer Stadium in Indianapolis by defeating number five ranked Mishawaka Marian 1-0 in a penalty kick shootout

This marked Providence High School's first-ever IHSAA championship in their first appearance in the Class A state finals

Senior Casey Marlin scored 37 goals in the season and set a school career scoring record with 96 points; Casey Marlin and Leah Mattingly were named First Team All State by the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association

Head Coach Dave Smith was named Class 1A Coach of the Year and District 5 Coach of the Year by the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association

The Indiana General Assembly congratulates the team on the state championship and directs the Principal Clerk of the House to transmit a copy of the resolution to team members, coaches, and school officials
