Indianapolis firefighter and paramedic Greg Hess founded Project 9/11 Indianapolis to create a permanent memorial honoring those who died in the September 11, 2001 attacks at the World Trade Center, Flight 93, and the Pentagon

Greg Hess was a member of Indiana Task Force 1 and spent eight days at Ground Zero in New York assisting with rescue and recovery efforts

Hess petitioned the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and obtained two 22-foot steel beams from the World Trade Center to serve as the focal point of the memorial

The Indiana House of Representatives thanks Greg Hess for his dedication and hard work as both a member of Indiana Task Force 1 and creator of the Project 9/11 Indianapolis memorial

The Principal Clerk of the House will transmit copies of this resolution to Greg Hess and Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard
