Senate Bill No. 139 Summary

• Amends Indiana Code IC 22-5-1.7-11 to limit E-Verify requirements for public service contracts to those exceeding $50,000 annually or meeting a $50,000 combined contract threshold with the same state agency or political subdivision.

• Requires state agencies and political subdivisions to include E-Verify enrollment provisions and "no unauthorized alien" affidavits in service contracts only when the $50,000 threshold is met (previously applied to all service contracts).

• Maintains existing E-Verify and affidavit requirements for state grants exceeding $1,000 to business entities without the $50,000 threshold limitation.

• Effective July 1, 2012, and applies only to contracts entered into or renewed after June 30, 2011.
