SB 158 Summary

• Permits law enforcement officers to enter school facilities with bomb or narcotics detecting animals to conduct sniff searches for explosives or drugs
• Requires the law enforcement officer controlling the animal to ensure the animal's presence does not unduly disrupt normal school operations
• Applies to law enforcement agencies having jurisdiction over the geographic area where the school facility is located
• Effective July 1, 2012
• Amends IC 20-33-8-32 relating to school searches and locker inspections
