Senate Bill 203 Summary

• Establishes IC 25-4.5 as a new article regulating art therapists in Indiana, effective July 1, 2012.

• Prohibits individuals from professing to be a registered art therapist, using the initials "ATR," or practicing art therapy unless they hold and maintain registration credentialing from the Art Therapy Credentials Board.

• Exempts practitioners with existing licenses, certificates, registrations, or permits from other regulated professions from the restriction if they perform art therapy functions within their professional scope.

• Establishes violation of the art therapist registration requirement as a Class B misdemeanor when committed knowingly, recklessly, or intentionally.

• Adds IC 25-4.5-1-4 to the list of statutes defining crimes in IC 25 related to professional licensing violations.
