• Increases maximum age for appointment as a police officer from 36 to 40 years of age, effective July 1, 2012

• Maintains maximum age of 36 years for fire department appointments

• Updates membership eligibility for the 1977 Police and Firefighters' Retirement Fund to include police officers less than 40 years of age

• Modifies removal provisions for applicants on eligibility lists to remove police officer candidates upon reaching age 40 (previously 36)
