Amends IC 35-46-1-4 to add a new offense to the neglect of a dependent statute, effective July 1, 2012.

Makes it neglect of a dependent (Class D felony) to knowingly wait more than 24 hours before reporting to law enforcement that a child less than 12 years of age is missing.

Applies to persons having care of a dependent, whether assumed voluntarily or by legal obligation.

Maintains existing penalties for other forms of neglect, including enhanced felony classifications for cases resulting in bodily injury, serious bodily injury, or death.
