Establishes immunity from criminal prosecution for individuals who request emergency medical assistance for someone intoxicated by alcohol, provided they meet specified conditions including providing their name, remaining at the scene, and cooperating with emergency responders.

Prohibits law enforcement officers from taking a person into custody solely for alcohol-related offenses under IC 7.1-5-1-3 (public intoxication) or IC 7.1-5-1-6 (intoxication on public transportation) if the person requested or assisted in requesting emergency medical assistance.

Extends immunity to minors charged under IC 7.1-5-7-7 for possessing, consuming, or transporting alcoholic beverages if they meet the emergency assistance criteria.

Prevents individuals from initiating or maintaining lawsuits against law enforcement officers based on their compliance or failure to comply with these immunity provisions.

Defines "law enforcement officer" for purposes of this section using the definition in IC 35-41-1-17(a); effective July 1, 2012.
