Senate Bill 305 Summary

• Changes student enrollment counting (ADM) from one annual count to two counts per school year: one in September and one in January.

• Moves the effective date for September count distributions from January of the following year to October of the same year.

• Changes state tuition support distributions from every 40 days to monthly (12 payments per year).

• Reduces charter school startup and advance loan calculations from six-month to three-month periods, changing divisor from 2 to 4 in related formulas.

• Updates various school funding calculations throughout the Indiana Code to reflect the new counting and distribution schedule, effective July 1, 2012.
