Senate Bill No. 339 Summary

• Amends IC 35-42-4-7 to create a new offense for law enforcement officers who engage in sexual conduct with minors aged 16-17
• Establishes that a law enforcement officer who engages in sexual intercourse, deviate sexual conduct, or sexual touching with a child at least 16 but under 18 years old commits child seduction, a Class D felony
• Requires the law enforcement officer to be at least five years older than the child for the offense to apply
• Effective date is July 1, 2012
