Senate Bill 367 Summary

• Allows municipalities or counties to increase enhanced emergency telephone system fees after showing substantial progress toward PSAP consolidation through an interlocal agreement, even if the agreement does not yet contain all required provisions.

• Requires units that increase fees under this provision to amend the interlocal agreement to include all remaining required information by January 1, 2016.

• Automatically reduces enhanced emergency telephone system fees on January 1, 2016, to pre-increase levels if the interlocal agreement is not fully amended as required.

• Permits PSAPs to use wireless emergency enhanced 911 fee revenue for any purpose allowed under enhanced emergency telephone system fee statutes, expanding permissible uses beyond the previously specified wireless emergency services and consumer education.

• Effective July 1, 2012.
