SB 380 Summary

• Prohibits state employees, former state employees, special state appointees, and former special state appointees from using state government email addresses (with "in.gov" domain or from any state agency) to send communications advocating for a political candidate or political opinion/position.

• Prohibits state employees and former state employees from using state government computers and email addresses to search for, view, or send sexually explicit material as defined in IC 24-4-16.4-2.

• Prohibits political subdivision officers and employees from using political subdivision-maintained email addresses to send communications advocating for a political candidate or political opinion/position.

• Prohibits political subdivision officers and employees from using political subdivision computers and email addresses to search for, view, or send sexually explicit material as defined in IC 24-4-16.4-2.

• Effective date: July 1, 2012.
