Senate Bill 414 Summary

• Amends IC 25-23-1-34 to expand the permissible uses of the impaired nurses account established within the state general fund.

• Allows money in the impaired nurses account to be used for carrying out any duties of the nursing board, in addition to the existing purpose of providing rehabilitation for impaired registered nurses or licensed practical nurses.

• Restricts the use of account funds for general board duties only after the board has accomplished the goals of providing rehabilitation services to impaired nurses.

• Effective date is July 1, 2012.
