Honors John C. Schalliol on his retirement as director of the South Bend Airport following 51 years of dedicated service in aviation.

Recognizes Schalliol's tenure beginning in 1977 as Airport Engineer and his rise to Executive Director in 1981, during which he directed capital improvements valued over $85 million and secured land acquisitions valued at $20 million.

Acknowledges his leadership roles including 8 years on the Board of the American Association of Airport Executives, President of the AAAE Great Lakes Chapter, and President of the Aviation Association of Indiana, where he received "Man of the Year" in 1984.

Notes his receipt of the Distinguished Service Award in 2000 and the Ideal Baldoni Distinguished Service Award in 2006, along with his current service on the National Transportation Research Board's Aviation Cooperative Research Program.

Directs the Secretary of the Senate to transmit a copy of the resolution to Schalliol and the chairman of the St. Joseph County Airport Authority.
