Indiana Senate honors the Ivy Tech-Logansport Electric Vehicle Club for designing and building an electric go-cart with superior speed and acceleration compared to gas-powered models.

Club members will compete in an international 100-lap race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on May 7 during the speedway's 100-year anniversary celebration.

Vehicle is entirely student-designed and built with the goal of educating the public about electric powered transportation technology benefits and advancements.

Club receives partial funding through U.S. Department of Energy grants and raises additional funds through sponsorships and individual contributions.

Secretary of the Senate directed to transmit resolution copy to Electric Vehicle Club President Jeff Marshall and Ivy Tech President Thomas Snyder.
