Urges the legislative council to establish an interim study committee to examine the use of DNA evidence in the criminal justice system

Committee shall consider whether DNA should be collected from arrestees and the circumstances for collecting DNA from juveniles and juvenile arrestees

Committee shall review experiences of 26 states that have adopted "Katie's Law" (DNA collection from arrestees) and the use of familial DNA

Committee shall issue a final report to the legislative council with findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation by November 1, 2012
