• Repeals IC 9-19-10-7, which prohibited failure to comply with safety belt and child passenger restraint system laws from constituting fault or limiting insurer liability.

• Repeals IC 9-19-11-8, which stated that failure to comply with passenger restraint laws does not constitute contributory negligence.

• Removes the prohibition against admitting evidence of failure to comply with safety belt laws in civil actions to mitigate damages, except in product liability cases involving motor vehicle restraint systems.

• Effective date: July 1, 2013.
