• Expands pharmacist authority to administer immunizations for pneumonia and tetanus, diphtheria, and acellular pertussis (Tdap) to groups under drug orders, prescriptions, or physician-approved protocols.

• Lowers minimum age for protocol-based immunizations from 14 years to 9 years old, requiring parent or guardian consent and presence for ages 9-17.

• Requires pharmacists to notify the authorizing physician and patient's primary care physician within 14 days of administering immunizations.

• Mandates pharmacists report immunization data to the state immunization data registry unless the patient or parent/guardian submits a written exemption form.

• Becomes effective July 1, 2013.
