HB 1120 Summary

• Raises the maximum speed limit from 60 mph to 65 mph on certain non-interstate highways located outside urbanized areas with populations of at least 50,000.

• The 65 mph limit applies to highways that have four or more lanes, are divided by an intervening space or physical barrier, and are not part of the interstate system.

• Amends Indiana Code 9-21-5-2 governing maximum lawful speed limits on various highway classifications.

• Effective July 1, 2013.
