HB 1232 Summary

• General assembly establishes tuition rates for seven state educational institutions (Ball State University, Indiana University, Indiana State University, Ivy Tech Community College, Purdue University, University of Southern Indiana, and Vincennes University) through the biennial budget process.

• Boards of trustees are prohibited from changing the tuition rates established by the general assembly.

• If the general assembly fails to establish tuition rates in a biennial budget, the most recent tuition rates continue in effect without modification until the general assembly acts.

• Effective July 1, 2013.
