Extends full worker's compensation and occupational disease law coverage to rostered volunteers of counties, municipalities, and townships, including police reserve officers

Defines "rostered volunteer" as a volunteer whose name appears on an official roster and who has been approved by proper unit authorities, excluding volunteer firefighters and inmates

Establishes average weekly wage calculation for rostered volunteers: compensation equals either the pay of the specific employee whose duties they were performing, or the lowest paid employee's compensation if not filling a specific role

Requires all insurance premiums and related expenses for volunteer coverage to be paid from the unit's general fund

Effective date: July 1, 2013
