Plumbing inspectors must verify that each plumbing contractor or journeyman plumber holds a valid license during inspections of building construction, alteration, or repair.

Inspection reports submitted to the division of fire and building safety must indicate whether plumbing work was performed by licensed plumbing contractors or licensed journeyman plumbers.

The division shall notify the Indiana plumbing commission if inspection reports indicate unlicensed plumbing work was performed.

Counties, municipalities, and townships issuing permits for building repair, alteration, or construction must require compliance with plumbing contractor and journeyman plumber licensing requirements under IC 25-28.5.

Permit-issuing units must notify the Indiana plumbing commission if they have reason to believe plumbing was performed by unlicensed contractors or plumbers.
