IN HB1410

Increases the maximum speed limit for vehicles with a declared gross weight greater than 26,000 pounds from 65 miles per hour to 70 miles per hour on interstate highways outside urbanized areas with populations of at least 50,000

Applies the same 70 mph speed limit increase for heavy vehicles on highways under the responsibility of the Indiana Finance Authority (toll roads)

Buses are excluded from the weight-based speed restrictions and may continue to travel at 70 mph

Effective date is July 1, 2013
