HB 1474 Summary

• High schools must provide dual credit and advanced placement courses enabling qualified students to complete at least one year of college credit between July 1, 2016 and June 30, 2018.

• After June 30, 2018, high schools must provide sufficient dual credit and advanced placement courses for qualified students to complete at least two years of college credit.

• State educational institutions may only charge tuition for dual enrollment courses taught by their own employees.

• Eligible institutions may grant financial assistance to admitted students based on financial need, academic achievement, or other criteria.

• Effective July 1, 2013.
