IN HB1513

Makes it a Class D felony for a member of the Indiana General Assembly to knowingly or intentionally have a pecuniary interest in or derive profit from a contract or purchase to which the state is a party

Defines "pecuniary interest" as an interest that will result or is intended to result in increased income or net worth for the legislator or a close relative of the legislator

Exempts compensation received through salary or employment contracts for services as a legislator or state employee, as well as lawful expense reimbursements

Exempts contracts where the legislator's or close relative's total interest in state contracts over the preceding 12 months was $250 or less
