Urges the legislative council to assign an interim study committee to examine volunteer firefighters holding elected office and funding and training for volunteer fire departments.

Committee shall determine how many people will be affected by the issue of volunteer firefighters holding elected office.

Committee shall study the staffing impact on volunteer fire departments under IC 3-5-9, enacted in the 2012 General Assembly.

Committee shall examine issues related to funding and training for volunteer fire departments.

Committee shall operate under the direction of the legislative council and issue reports as directed by the council.
