Senate Bill No. 20 Summary

• Prohibits knowingly or intentionally using unmanned aerial vehicles to monitor a person, property, or thing without written consent, making violation a Class D felony.

• Makes images or communications obtained through unmanned aerial vehicle use inadmissible as evidence in administrative or judicial proceedings, and makes possessing such materials a Class A misdemeanor.

• Defines unmanned aerial vehicle as an aircraft without human operator capable of flight under remote control or autonomous programming, excluding recreational or hobby use.

• Prohibits use of public money to purchase or acquire unmanned aerial vehicles after June 30, 2013.

• Effective date: July 1, 2013.
