Senate Bill No. 138 Summary

• Requires the alcohol and tobacco commission to establish an alcohol server trainer program and approve third-party trainer programs that meet specified requirements.

• Removes restrictions prohibiting the commission from approving trainer programs operated by entities holding primary source of supply permits, wholesaler permits, retailer permits, or dealer permits.

• Establishes mandatory requirements for approved trainer programs including answering attendee questions, instruction on teaching methods and server program curriculum, trainer workbooks, applicant requirements, and an exam covering trainer and server program content.

• Requires the commission to post all approved trainer programs and server programs on its website.

• Effective July 1, 2013.
