SB 163 Summary

• Prohibits individuals from being registered as lobbyists for more than 10 years, with years registered before July 1, 2013 not counted toward this limit.

• Prevents individuals from serving more than 16 combined years in the Indiana General Assembly (as senator and/or representative), with service before November 5, 2014 not counted toward this limit.

• Limits individuals to 10 years of employment or contract work with any Indiana government body during their lifetime, with time employed before July 1, 2013 not counted.

• Caps lifetime compensation from government funds at $1,000,000 per individual, excluding amounts received before July 1, 2013.

• Requires government bodies to notify affected employees or contractors 12-18 months before they reach these limitations and automatically retire or terminate them upon reaching the limits.
