Senate Bill 276 Summary

• Prohibits insurers from refusing to issue or deliver residential insurance policies solely because multiple claims have been filed for acts of God damage to the property.

• Prohibits insurers from canceling or refusing to renew residential insurance policies solely because multiple claims have been filed under the policy for acts of God damage.

• Applies to policies covering first-party property loss in Indiana for residential properties with no more than four units (where one is the insured's principal residence) or personal property used for residential purposes.

• Effective July 1, 2013.
