Senate Bill 296 Summary

• Amends IC 14-19-3-4 to provide free Golden Hoosier Passports to disabled veterans and prisoners of war.

• Disabled veterans eligible for disabled Hoosier veteran license plates under IC 9-18-18-1 may not be charged a fee for an annual Golden Hoosier Passport.

• Prisoners of war issued license plates under IC 9-18-17-1 may not be charged a fee for an annual Golden Hoosier Passport.

• A Golden Hoosier Passport entitles the holder, their vehicle, and passengers to unlimited admission to Indiana state parks, recreation areas, reservoirs, forests, historic sites, museums, memorials, and other department properties charging admission for one calendar year.

• Effective July 1, 2013.
