SB 313 Summary

• Modifies the appointment process for local government officials on the Indiana Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations
• Requires that legislative appointments of municipal, county, and township officials be made from nominees submitted by any legislative member of the commission, rather than exclusively from local government association nominees
• Allows remaining vacancies to be filled from association nominees (Indiana Association of Cities and Towns, Association of Indiana Counties, and Township Trustees Association) only if legislative members nominate fewer individuals than needed
• Effective July 1, 2013
