Senate Bill 451 Summary

• Establishes the kidney early evaluation fund with an annual appropriation of $50,000 from the state general fund, effective July 1, 2013.

• Requires quarterly distribution of fund money to the National Kidney Foundation of Indiana to administer the Kidney Early Evaluation Program (KEEP) for early detection of kidney disease.

• After December 31, 2013, fund distributions cannot occur until the National Kidney Foundation submits an annual audited expenditure report to the state department by February 1 each year.

• State department administers the fund and pays all administration expenses from the fund itself.

• Unspent fund money at the end of a fiscal year does not revert to the state general fund.
