SB 470 Summary

• Requires the worker's compensation board to adopt rules by January 1, 2014, establishing reimbursement rates for medical services, treatment, and supplies provided by medical services facilities (hospitals, clinics, surgery centers, nursing homes, and rehabilitation centers).

• Applies new reimbursement rate rules only to services provided after December 31, 2013, by medical services facilities; billing review services continue using the 80th percentile standard for other medical service providers.

• Increases benefit amounts for injuries and occupational disease disablements occurring on and after July 1, 2013, including permanent impairment compensation rates and maximum average weekly wages.

• Raises the maximum compensation (exclusive of medical benefits) from $325,000 to $390,000 for injuries and disablements occurring on and after July 1, 2013.

• Effective July 1, 2013.
